Okay most of you that know me… know I am not much of a holiday kind of person. I am one of those geeks that looks up to see why the holiday was started…. and when I see why, I don’t always want to celebrate it. Needless to say my hubby saves money on this day…haha!
But this is my children’s first Valentines day at school and I have to say I am super excited for them! They both helped to make their Valentine treats. Now… I know you all know that I am homeschooling Meadow this year. However, I spoke with the teacher and she said to just always
know Meadow is included in everything. She loves Meadow and will always be a part of that class. I thought that was really sweet! She even said that when Meadow isn’t at school and he gets a prize out of the prize box he will ask if he can have an extra for his sister. His teacher always says yes. Well I found out that other kids have started to do this and she will tell them no. I asked why and that is when she said Meadow will always be one of her students and still considers her one in her class. I thought that was just so sweet!
So these are the Valentines the kids help make. I used the new “Oh Whale” Stampin Up! Stamp set. It is just the cutest! The kids had fun stamping the whale, and then some of them I let them cut out with the matching “Happy Whale” clearlit die on the Big Shot – that was huge for them! They love playing with my punches and the Big Shot. The Whales are on a piece of Whisper White card stock. The Whisper White card stock was ran through the Big Shot using the “Cloudy Day” Textured Impressions folder. I just folded the Whisper White card stock in half and wrote the kids’ names on the inside of who it was from. I didn’t put each child they were giving them too because I figured if we did that… we would be there till dinner time waiting
for the kids to get each one in the right bags HAHA! The colors of ink we used were Marina Mist and Regal Rose classic ink pads. The kids both chose their own color. I did use some retired DSP that I don’t even know the name of to save my life! I think some of it is from 7 years ago when I joined Stampin’ Up! to be a demonstrator! :) But the DSP that is current we used “More Amore” Specialty and “Sunshine & Sprinkles” Designer Series Paper. The last element that was used (besides the sweethearts candy) is we used a retired Big Shot die by the name of “Scalloped Bag” I think…. I would have to go look to be sure.
But I hope you have a very wonderful Valentines day! We will be off early to go get the Teacher a balloon.
